TI U12 celebrate 1-0 victory over Vikings PeeWee Bronze
U12 Girls
Team Illinois U12 celebrated a stunning 1-0 victory on Saturday against the Vikings PeeWee Bronze team in the NIHL semi-final playoffs. The first period was highlighted by a stellar quick shot goal, with an assist from the blue line. The girls rallied throughout the 2nd and 3rd periods, clearly dominating the ice with strategic passing plays and several shots on goal. The defense was in top form as they protected the net and opened up the opportunity for the forwards to take control of the puck. Our goalie held the Vikings to a scoreless game and proudly earned a shut out with fierce concentration in the net. The U12 team, consisting of players Grace Dynek, Gina Horton, Lizzie Horwitz, Clare Kennedy, Molly Klare, Zoe Klein, Kate Landers, Reagan Lynn, Jessica Meluch, Ashley Peters, Kiki Platek, Francesca Principe, Natalie Smith, Alexis Toporowski, Morgan Turner, Christa Vuglar, and Allyson Zachwieja, &nb sp;looks forward with purpose and determination to next weekend where they meet the Hawks in the spectacular NIHL Championship Game in Joliet on Sunday, February 17th at 5pm. Team Illinois U12 are going to 'Bring It Home' next Sunday, Go Girls!!!!!!!

TI U12 win NIHL PeeWee Bronze Championship
U12 Girls
Congratulations to the TI 12U team for winning the NIHL PeeWee Bronze Championship game yesterday at Joliet! They scored the lone goal in the first period, and then played a great game where they outshot the Hawks 17-5 for the remaining two periods. Coincidentally, the 12U team was not scored against in all 5 NIHL playoff games. Francesca Principe and Grace Dynek were chosen by Joliet TV as players of the game, and Christa Vuglar received the honor of game MVP. All three girls recieved individual awards and were interviewed on Joliet TV after the game about their success. Congrats, and good luck at state.
