Team Illinois is pleased to announce that goaltender Tianna Lavalle has committed to play ACHA Division 1 hockey for Adrian College starting with the 2018-2019 season. Tianna has been with Team Illinois for five seasons, joining the club from Glenview as a second year U14 player.
She will play for head coach Brett Berger and assistant coach Samantha Fallon. The Bulldogs compete in the ACHA Central Division. They play out of the Arrington Ice Arena that is located right on Adrian’s campus in Adrian, Michigan.
“I fell in love with Adrian and everything about it during my campus visit,” explained Tianna. “I love the layout of the campus and how everything is located in close proximity. I am also very happy with the size of the school with its small class sizes and great student-teacher ratio. The school also has my major which is the most important thing. The fact that I get to continue my hockey career in college is an added benefit.”
“Tianna is a solid goaltender and an extremely hard worker who has grown with the program during her long tenure at the club,” noted Chad Wells, Team Illinois U19 Head Coach. “She is a beloved teammate, known for her positive and encouraging attitude. Tianna relentlessly cheers her teammates on and is a major part of every game, whether she is net or on the bench. We are very proud and happy for her decision to play with Adrian next year and look forward to watching her grow at the collegiate level.”
“I am really looking forward to being a Bulldog and playing for Coach Berger,” added Tianna. “He was very supportive and communicative during the decision-making process. That was terrific and really helped make the decision an easy one.”
Tianna was awarded a Trustee Scholar with Academic Distinction scholarship from Adrian College. She plans to study psychology.
