Born in Melrose Park, IL, Bob began playing organized hockey at the age of 4. He played for various youth hockey organizations in the Chicagoland area until the age of 17. From there he went to Des Moines, IA for three seasons to play hockey at the Junior A level, in hopes of playing in college in the future.

That dream came true when he was asked to walk-on for the Ferris State University Division I hockey program that played in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA). There he played against the likes of Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Lake Superior State and Bowling Green to name a few. He earned a scholarship after two seasons as a walk-on.

From there, he was recruited to play professional hockey in Italy. After three seasons there, he returned home to play for the Chicago Wolves for one season. Then it was back to Italy and a one season stint in Germany before returning home for good with the Chicago Wolves.

During his 13 year career Bob was a member of 7 championship teams, including three with the Chicago Wolves. In addition, Bob represented the Italian National Hockey Team in world championship, tournament, and Olympic play. Bob participated in the 1998 and was recently named to the 2006 Olympic team.
